The IIBA Bay Area Chapter is pleased to support Keep Dimond Clean at its weekly Saturday litter walk.
Since 2009, “Keep Dimond Clean” volunteers and a paid crew have walked the main streets that make up the Dimond Business District (located in Oakland CA 94602). Litter walks are just one hour and are often led by neighbors in the Dimond District. Event leaders provide all needed equipment–bags, grabbers, vests, and gloves–and assign participants to specific stretches of street. Weekly SATURDAYS: 9am to 10am. (More info: Keep Dimond Clean Today | Keep Dimond Clean)
Filled bags are then left at a designated drop spot at Montana St. and Flagg St. for the City to pick up. And in appreciation, all volunteers receive a coupon worth two pastries and two coffees or a loaf of bread at nearby neighborhood bakery La Farine (http://lafarine.com/breads.html) each time they participate in a litter walk.
Please note: Rain cancels the litter walk. *Participants should be comfortable picking up trash along the sidewalk with a grabber / trash stick and carrying a plastic bag approximately 3-4 blocks en route to the drop off site.
